In this day and age it seems hard to find contentment. Social media has many of us comparing ourselves to others and finding ourselves lacking in one way or another. The Bible has much to say to us about contentment as well as where striving after the things of this world can lead. This study helps to talk to youth about their contentment in Christ.
The goal of this study is to talk about the resurrection of Christ and the wonderful joy that can be found in that. Eric Dunn uses Matthew to walk through the events that led up to Sunday, so we will also be looking at the events that led up to Jesus’ crucifixion. With that we can frame Easter for our teens in a way which reminds them of the power of Jesus' death and resurrection.
This study is designed to be done as a standalone study, particularly on a Sunday when there may be a Baptism happening in worship. The hope is that such a study will encourage meaningful conversation about how young people can deeply understand their Baptismal Faith. Even though we will get many gifts in this life, no gift is greater or continual gift like the gifts we receive in Baptism.
Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and during this season, we take time to think about all that we’re thankful for. One thing we are thankful for is God’s gifts! Let’s talk about what those gifts are, and how we can show our gratitude.
As much as we wish our life was only good days, the truth is our lives are a constant pendulum between good and hard seasons. But there’s one thing that remains a constant throughout all of life’s seasons: our ability to praise God because no matter what, God is worthy of our praise. This Bible study goes through Psalms of both lament and joy to highlight how we can be grateful and give praise in all circumstances.
