God’s Love Carries Us!

“As they led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him CARRY it behind Jesus.” -Luke 23:26

On that Good Friday, a man named Simon took on an unexpected role…CARRYING the cross that Jesus would die on. Although Simon was carrying the physical cross, Jesus still CARRIED the sin of the entire world on His shoulders as He was nailed to it. He CARRIED our burden, and by his LOVE, through his death and Resurrection, we are SAVED from eternal damnation.

Later on, Paul shared the following words in a letter to the Philippians:

“In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will CARRY it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 1:4-6

We can be confident that God’s LOVE will CARRY us to our eternal home because of the promise fulfilled through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Don’t try to CARRY the load yourself, but rest in the arms of the SAVIOR that CARRIED everything to the cross and won victory over sin, death and the devil!

He will CARRY you home!

Prayer

Dear God, thank you for sending your Son, Jesus Christ, to carry our load of sin to the cross and die in our place. Help us to lay our burdens at your feet in the midst of the stress and chaos of this life. May we continue to live for you and serve you until the day you CARRY us home!
